Laurie Streff is a movement educator and instructor trainer with over 25 years of fitness teaching, management, and corporate wellness experience. A passionate fitness instructor who has earned numerous fitness certifications throughout her career, she is focused on creating exercise experiences that are innovative, dynamic, and every-body friendly. Laurie’s goal is to inspire people to prioritize self-care through exploratory movement and restorative techniques. She is especially excited to share the self-care principles of therapeutic mobility created by Tune Up Fitness World Wide, Yoga Tune Up®, and The Roll Model® Method, all of which bring heightened awareness of what the body needs to operate at its very best. Laurie teaches a wide variety of classes at Equinox clubs in the Los Angeles area, and also provides corporate wellness trainings, movement workshops, and teacher trainings nationwide.

Honored to be a lululemon athletica ambassador in Calabasas, CA, Laurie enjoys spreading the #selfcarehealthcare message during fun and inviting community events. Grateful for her #Calabadass lemonhead family, Laurie works with them to offer restorative techniques to local athletes, weekend warriors, yoga enthusiasts, and all types of unique fitness movers.  

Laurie is dedicated to her self-care routine. She especially enjoys spending movement time outdoors and hiking the Santa Monica Mountains. Using her Yoga Tune Up® therapy balls for total body myofascial restorative healthcare is also a non-negotiaBALL priority! A grateful mama of two amazing adult children, Laurie loves watching them take on the world through their movement explorations in their own unique ways.

Teacher Trainings

  • Yoga Tune Up® Level 1 Teacher Training
    • The Yoga Tune Up® Level 1 70-hour Certification Program strikes a balance between the worlds of yoga and fitness, attracting trainees of all ages, body types, and movement modalities. It breaks down the nuts and bolts of human movement by using a yogic lens of awareness, conscious relaxation and proper breathing techniques. The Level 1 environment fosters trainees into a newly intimate understanding of their own architecture, diving deeply into integrated anatomy and body mechanics. You will go beyond formulaic instruction and truly learn how to think and teach creatively within your specific teaching environment, with both group classes and private clients. 

  • Yoga Tune Up® Breath and Bliss Immersion
    • This 3-day immersion will provide you with multiple embodied explorations that create the conditions needed for profound relaxation, increased body awareness and mind-body connectivity.You will learn meditation, physiological “listening,” breath & body reset and emotional attunement. You will find a treasure chest of new practices to enhance your life. For educators, you will leave with creative and effective ways to guide students of every level into down-regulation.
  • Yoga Tune Up® Integrated Embodied Anatomy
    • Learn anatomy from the inside-out. This comprehensive anatomy module (15 - 20 hrs.) expertly guides you into your living tissues in a concrete and inspiring way. It provides you with a directly personal experience of the interplay of the many complex systems of the body and helps you to make them relevant and tangible for your students. Learn how the multiple layers of the body relate and function as a whole while simultaneously exploring specific anatomical structures, physiological processes and typical movement patterns and pathologies.
  • The Roll Model Method® The Science of Rolling
    • Put the power of self-massage into your own hands in this training that empowers you to personally adopt and also teach simple and effective self-care regimens. The YTU Therapy Balls can be used as an adjunct offering within personal training sessions, stretch, Pilates, dance classes, wellness coaching, yoga, massage therapy, or with kids and special needs populations. 
  • The Roll Model Method® Ball Sequencing and Innovation
    • Put the power of self-myofascial release into your own hands. This training empowers you to personally adopt and teach simple yet highly effective self-care regimens for pain-relief and improved performance. The 4 different sized Roll Model® Therapy Balls included in this module can be used as an adjunct offering within personal training sessions, stretch, Pilates, dance classes, wellness coaching, yoga, massage therapy, or with kids and special needs populations. These proven, whole-body exercises are approved by physical therapists, pain medicine specialists, and chiropractors.

    • This self-care workshop will bring heightened awareness to core musculature and the pelvic floor. Explore foundational training and core integrated enlivening to achieve more strength, stability, and mobility in your fitness classes, CrossFit WODs, yoga practice, and functional movement patterns.
  • Plank You Very Much
    • The “plank” is heralded as the most stabilizing core exercise available. It requires no equipment, but is often practiced poorly when your body is missing its own “equipment” of coordination and strength. The plank is a great equalizer, as it is found across all genres of exercise -- from yoga/Pilates to CrossFit to athletic training and more. This workshop disassembles the classic plank joint-by-joint and prepares you to master this whole body expression of stability. Learn to regress this shape for children, seniors, or students in chronic pain, then learn to progress it for athletes, dancers...and explore novelties for your Instagram account.
    • Fortify Your Foundation: Feet, Ankle and Knee myofascial recovery and mobility.
      • Roll away fascial restrictions and rehydrate stiff muscles to diminish lower body issues that stop you in your tracks.     • Savasana for Athletes
      • How we rest directly impacts how we move. Lack of rest results in lackluster performance, yet we don’t often dedicate time to recovery. Learn to prep the calming parasympathetic branch of the nervous system for complete relaxation as you embody somatic techniques of soothing myofascial release and therapeutic breathing patterns.     Personally touched by this disease through family members and close friends, I have been dedicated to the fight against breast cancer for almost two decades. Completing the 3-Day Walk three years in a row, along with hosting numerous cycling fundraising events, are just a few of the ways I have supported those I love in their struggles with this invasive cancer.

    The Challenged Athletes Foundation was created on the belief that people of all abilities should have the opportunity to pursue a life full of physical activity and of sports. I am dedicated to the work that CAF does so that those with a physical disability are able to experience recreational movement, or move in pursuit of a gold medal at the Paralympic Games.
